“Just As They Did In Baringo…” Natembeya Defends DAP As He Hits Out At UDA Power Games In Malava

Tension is slowly building up in Western Kenya’s political theatre as Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya.

 Took a bold swipe at political power plays surrounding the Malava parliamentary by-election.

The vocal county boss openly accused top party figures of frustrating Seth Panyako’s bid.

Claiming that unfair games are being played behind the scenes to suppress local leadership.

Speaking during a charged political event, Natembeya hailed lawyer Edgar Busiega Mwanga for stepping down in favor of Panyako

 Calling it a rare act of unity and maturity in Luhya politics. 

The full video of his statement has since gone viral online, with Netizens dissecting every line and gesture of his fiery address 

Natembeya told the crowd that what Busiega did in Malava mirrors what leaders had done earlier in Baringo, putting community unity above personal ambition. 

He described Busiega’s move as historic, saying the young lawyer had chosen peace and brotherhood over political competition.

But the governor didn’t stop there. He sharply turned his guns on the ruling side’s candidate.

 Ndakwa, suggesting that the UDA machinery was forcing him to stay in the race even when his heart was no longer in it. 

Natembeya alleged that while unity gestures were celebrated in other regions, the same spirit was being denied in Malava.

 Raising questions about hidden motives and selective politics..

He wondered why the ruling side was investing so much energy and money in Western Kenya .

Where as it seemingly avoiding aggressive campaigns in their perceived strongholds. 

To him, the entire saga was less about democracy and more about testing political dominance in an area that has shown resistance to external control.

Natembeya’s remarks have since sent ripples across the Luhya region, 

With many residents praising his bravery and others warning that his growing influence could unsettle national party plans ahead of 2027.
