Sifuna Singles Out Figures Who Fit The Bill To Give ODM Party's Directive On 2027 Presidential Race

Senator of Nairobi County and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party Secretary General (SG) Edwin Sifuna has singled out three powerful political figures, who fit the bill to give the party's directive in regards to the 2027 general elections.

While making his pronouncement on Saturday 1st November 2025, Edwin Sifuna indicated that despite the untimely death of Hon Raila Odinga in the just concluded month, there are other powerful political figures within the party, who are best-suited to steer ODM forward and give directives in regards to the fast approaching 2027 Presidential polls.

As per his remarks, Edwin Sifuna indicated that it is only Siaya county Senator Hon Oburu Oginga who recently took charge of the ODM party political dynasty, that is capable of giving directives on which candidate the party will support in the 2027 general election.

Aside from Oginga Odinga, Mr Sifuna also indicated that the governor of Mombasa County Hon Abdulswamad Nassir as well as his Kisii counterpart Governor Simba Arati, also fit the bill to give directives on who the party will back up or rather support in the next presidential race.

A screenshot from the source.Before concluding his remarks, Edwin Sifuna also insisted that ODM party will still field its own presidential candidate in the 2027 general elections, and affirmed that the party will show total dust to incumbent President William Ruto, who recently boasted that it is only the Late Hon Raila Odinga, who was capable of challenging him in his quest for the country's top political seat.
