“You Will Be Used and Dumped; You Are Already a Decoy,” Matiang’i Told in Strong Afternoon Statement

Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi issued a stern warning to former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i on Friday via a post on X (formerly Twitter).

Ngunyi alleged that the Jubilee Party has a history of exploiting political figures and discarding them once their utility diminishes.

He drew parallels to former Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni, who, after years of loyalty through challenging times, was reportedly demoted and politically sidelined.

According to Ngunyi, Matiang’i—who announced Kioni’s demotion—is currently being positioned as a "decoy" by the party.

He claimed the Kenyattas plan to field Matiang’i as a candidate in the 2027 General Elections, deliberately engineering his failure to clear the path for long-term ambitions.

Ngunyi asserted that the party’s true focus is the 2032 elections, where they intend to front Muhoho Kenyatta, brother of former President Uhuru Kenyatta, as the frontrunner and secure his presidency.

Ngunyi emphasized that his message was "truth, not propaganda," cautioning Matiang’i against relying on Jubilee, as harsher consequences could follow as elections near.

The post quickly gained traction, amassing over 79,000 views, 974 likes, and 221 replies within hours.

Responses ranged from skepticism and mockery of Ngunyi’s predictions and spelling errors to debates on Kenya’s dynastic politics.

This development highlights ongoing tensions within Jubilee and broader strategic maneuvering in Kenya’s political arena, where alliances shift amid preparations for future polls.

Matiang’i has not publicly responded, but the warning underscores potential vulnerabilities for figures aligned with established parties.
