Dramà In Statehouse As Oparanyang's Lover Spotted With Ruto's UDA Ally

Many political observers had expected Mary Biketi to contest her next political bid on an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ticket, but her latest move is raising fresh questions about her political future.

A photo circulating online showing Mary Biketi at State House alongside Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya has set tongues wagging, with analysts reading it as a possible signal of a shifting political allegiance.

The image, shared widely on social media, comes at a time when political realignments are beginning to take shape ahead of the next general election.

For months, Biketi had been closely associated with ODM circles, and many of her supporters assumed she would ride on the party’s strong Western Kenya base.

However, the State House appearance — a space strongly associated with the Kenya Kwanza administration — has fueled speculation that she may be warming up to a different political camp.

While neither Biketi nor Oparanya has publicly clarified the purpose of the State House visit, political insiders say such optics are rarely accidental in Kenyan politics.

Some view the move as a strategic positioning, possibly aimed at broadening her political networks beyond ODM, while others believe it could be part of ongoing behind-the-scenes negotiations.

As the 2027 race slowly comes into focus, Mary Biketi’s next steps will be closely watched. Whether the State House photo marks a complete departure from ODM or is simply a diplomatic engagement remains to be seen, but one thing is clear: the political script many had written for her is no longer guaranteed.
