"I Am Not Against a Coalition Between ODM and Other Parties" Ruth Odinga Clarifies Earlier Statement

Kisumu Woman Representative Ruth Odinga has clarified remarks she made recently.

That were widely misreported, insisting she is not opposed to a coalition between ODM and other parties.

Speaking on X, Odinga said the misrepresentation arose from a statement she made emphasizing the importance of a strong and united ODM.

“I am not against a coalition between ODM and other parties. What I keep saying is that we must have one strong ODM.

We have been in the trenches and we know what unity can do,” she wrote.

Ruth Odinga was addressing the media after Ndhiwa MP Martin Owino, popularly known as ‘Wuod Chief .'

Led a delegation to Kango ka Jaramogi to condole with her and provide a platform for clarification.

She referered to the 2007 elections to illustrate her point about party cohesion.

Noting that although the party’s presidential victory was allegedly contested.

Its organizational strength helped secure key positions, including the Speakership of the National Assembly.

“You can't go to war without a weapon. And the stronger the weapon, the better,” Odinga said.

The Kisumu legislator stressed that her statements aim to encourage internal unity within ODM.

Rather than discourage strategic partnerships with other political entities.

She highlighted that party solidarity is critical to electoral success and political influence.
