“Weta Is Playing a Dangerous Game” Inside Wetang’ula’s Alleged Plot to Use MCAs to Topple Natembeya

Moses Wetang’ula, the Speaker of the National Assembly, is at the center of a growing political storm.

After revelations emerged of a secret meeting he reportedly held with fifteen Members of County Assembly (MCAs) from Trans Nzoia.

The closed-door meeting, held at the Oasis Hotel, was initially presented as an informal tea session.

However, insiders claim it was part of a calculated plan to weaken Governor George Natembeya’s administration from within.

Sources privy to the discussions allege that Wetang’ula urged the MCAs to use their legislative influence to frustrate the governor’s projects and stall key development initiatives.

This move, analysts say, was designed to make Natembeya appear ineffective ahead of the 2027 general election.

The Speaker’s alleged scheme is reportedly driven by growing anxiety over Natembeya’s surging popularity .

Across the region  a territory Wetang’ula has long considered his political stronghold.

The rivalry between the two leaders has intensified as Natembeya’s name continues to feature prominently in national political circles.

Reports suggest that the Trans Nzoia governor has emerged as a potential running mate to Wiper leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka in the 2027 presidential race.

This possibility is said to have heightened Wetang’ula’s fears, prompting what some observers are calling a “preemptive political strike.”

Wetang’ula’s alleged plan aims to destabilize Natembeya’s administration by creating division and chaos within the county assembly.

By using the MCAs to block or delay projects, the Speaker is said to be engineering a wave of discontent.

Among the electorate, hoping to turn public opinion against the governor.

The ultimate goal, according to those familiar with the scheme, is to damage Natembeya’s reputation beyond repair .

Portraying him as an underperforming leader incapable of managing county affairs.

Political analysts warn that if the allegations are true, Wetang’ula is “playing a dangerous game”

Which could not only backfire politically but also deepen divisions in Trans Nzoia’s leadership.

As 2027 approaches, the power struggle between the two heavyweights is expected to shape the political destiny of the region.
