Dr. Oburu indicated that when his late sister was still a student at the University of Nairobi.
she was married to one Otieno Ambala who used to mistreat her requiring frequent intervention from the late Prime Minister to bring peace between them.
Despite the fact that Beryl Achieng and Otieno Ambala had been blessed with two children Chizi and Auma.
Efforts by Raila Odinga to save their turbulent marriage bore no fruits as she finally ended up to divorce with Ambala.
To break her heart even more, Otieno Ambala went ahead and married a different lady from Gem while Beryl was still a student at the University of Nairobi.
At the time Beryl Achieng divorced with Otieno Ambala, one of their child was still very young .
And since Beryl had not employed a nanny, Oburu Oginga would intervene to help her babysit until he left for Russia.
Things took a different turn when Beryl Achieng found her way to Zimbabwe where she met another man whom she got married to.
According to Dr Oburu, out of her second marriage, Beryl Achieng who unfortunately succeed to cancer on November 25 gave birth to Tairei thus extending her family.
Aside from sharing Beryl Achieng's turbulent marriage, Dr. Oburu also sympathised with his late sister's daughter.
